Woodworking

VONVOFF Wireless Remote Switch, AC 110V/120V/240V/

For any of you that have multiple woodworking tools connected to a central dust collection system like my Grizzly GXXX (LINK HERE), you know it can be a real pain to continually walk back and forth from machine to dust collector switch. My first attempt at solving this problem included a junction box with a contactor, relays, terminal strips, lots of wires, and a low voltage wire that I mounted at each of my wood working tools.

(PHOTO) This solution worked, however; I found myself frustrated when I moved my equipment around. All of my woodworking tools are on Shop Fox D4666 Extreme-Duty Mobile Base so I can optimize my small shop based on the project. My wires would no longer travel with me without cutting zip ties and letting them hang from the ceiling. I thought there must be a better way. After searching Ebay and Amazon, I found this handy device.

It is a simple remote contactor for small devices, and was capable of 240V (which my dust collector is), and comes with two remotes that are wireless. This seamed like it was worth trying out, and to find a solution under $30 was a bargain.

The installation only took me about 30 minutes to complete.
